Sage Hills

$400.00

Oil on Canvas, 14” x 14” x 1.5”, 2024

Sage Hills was inspired by the expansive landscapes I encountered while driving toward Yellowstone in 2023. The painting captures the quiet rhythm of rolling hills, softened by distance and atmosphere, where sagebrush, grasslands, and subtle ridgelines dissolve into one another. Layers of muted greens, warm golds, and earthy browns evoke the movement of wind across open terrain, while gentle shifts in light suggest both vastness and intimacy within the land.

Rather than depicting a specific place, this work reflects a memory of motion—of traveling through the West and witnessing how land unfolds gradually, revealing its forms through color, texture, and quiet transitions. Sage Hills is an interpretation of that experience: a landscape felt as much as seen, grounded in observation yet shaped by emotion and memory.
